Our research group studies the Earth processes, rural-urban sustainability, land use & climate change impacts, and human migration. We combine environmental and social science approaches to work on actionable science and policy relevant research.​

Pulse Lab Updates

Welcome to:

Takada (PhD student), Riley (MS student), Grace (undergraduate RA). Takada will work on the Valley fever project while Riley will continue working on the biogeochemical analyses of soil and water samples from the Texas Panhandle. Grace is interested in long-term analysis of extreme precipitation over the Llano-Estacado region and flash flooding

NSF funded an EAGER award (2024-2026) to investigate the environmental and climatic determinants of Valley fever in Texas. Our group is collaborating with Dr. Sandip Pal (TTU, Department of Geosciences), Dr. Jennifer Head (University of Michigan, School of Public Health) and Dr. Scott Van Pelt (USDA-ARS).

NSF funded a RAPID grant (2024-2025) to study post-fire aeolian transport. Our group is collaborating with Dr. Branimir Segvic (TTU, Department of Geosciences) and Drs. Scott Van Pelt and John Stout (USDA-ARS).
